Dragonfly Safaris is owned and run by Lloyd and Kirsten Peltier.

The couple are personally involved in the planning and coordination of each expedition.

Lloyd’s passion for both South Africa and delivering world-class experiences goes back a long way. He was born in South Africa, and at 6 weeks old moved to the USA where he grew up with his father. He lived all over the US, from Nashville Tennessee to Sacramento California to El Paso Texas, and Phoenix Arizona. His interest in the country of his birth was sparked as a teenager.

He then traveled to visit his mother back in South Africa every year and on one of the trips his mother planned a beautiful Safari trip into the Kruger National Park. This was where he got to experience the true wild bushveld for the first time. The sounds, the natural untouched beauty, and the up close viewings of the amazing wildlife – he fell in love instantly. Shortly thereafter made the move to South Africa.

“It was then I knew this is where my heart belongs and there’s no other place I would rather be In the world. From bushveld to coast, South Africa has it all,” says Lloyd.

Despite other successful business ventures it was Lloyd and Kirsten’s dream to establish a superior hospitality experience for local and international travellers, and this dream was realised in 2019 when the Dragonfly brand was born.

Kirsten grew up in South Africa, and from as early as she can remember going to the bushveld was always and often her family’s idea of a perfect breakaway. It will only take one game drive with her to realise she’s been spotting animals in the wild for a long time! Formerly a qualified educator, Kirsten is the Operations Director for Dragonfly and meticulously ensures every guest experience is taken care of together with Dragonfly’s team of invested personnel.

Dragonfly’s bespoke packages include stays at hand-picked 5-star safari and sea-side lodges in Southern Africa. The team coordinates seamless tour packages to these as well as all sorts of exclusive experiences in between.
